Tami Katzir received her PhD in applied
child development at Tufts University, and was an assistant professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in the Mind, Brain and Education program. Her research centers on reading development and reading breakdown. She is currently investigating the brain structure
and function of patients with a rare brain malformation
(periventricular nodular heterotopia) that is also associated with an
isolated reading fluency deficit. She is also interested in the behavioral and brain-based heterogeneity of reading disabilities in various languages including English, Hebrew, Spanish and Arabic. Her courses aim to connect applied developmental neuroscience to current intervention with children with learning disabilities.
